Tex Tan Western Leather Company, a highly respected leather company proudly recalls 98 years (1919-2017) of weaving whips, manufacturing saddles, horse collars, rifle slings, harnesses and various tack.  Through vast advertising campaigns, many celebrities endorsed the brand.

Circle Y of Yoakum, America’s leading western saddle brand, with 60 years of experience, become famous for both its trail and barrels saddles as well as its Tack.  Their well-known motto was “Legacy is More Than Things”.

Double J Saddlery opened its doors in 1991 with three generations of handmade excellence in saddles, tack and belts.  They built state of art saddle trees in their building by initiating a most intricate saddle tree manufacturing system.

Double D Ranch wear has designed apparel since 1989 by introducing their highly famed Native American blanket coat.  This became a premier lifestyle brand about the west.

A.A. & E. Leathercraft has 40 years of experience and is a leading brand in the sporting accessories.  They are famous for their quality and known for using only the finest of materials.

The Museum has challenged these high-end leather sources to share examples of their specialty to demonstrate how leather has come full circle through their creative manufacturing and overall textures.  Leather has been a way of life for so many.  A saddle provides long-lived transportation, approximately 30 years…better longevity than an automobile!

Come visit Yoakum’s long lived leather history as well as an extensive hand painted pony collection and the latest life-size pony, Benji.  Benji has just been painted by artist Bob Barrera with examples of Yoakum’s pictorial history.  There is a complete replica of the historic train platform of 125 years ago.  We promise a fun and amazing journey of Yoakum’s past.

Leather Now and Then exhibit will run through Father’s Day during our normal visitation hours.  See you there!!!  It is worth your investigation.
